Performance Improvement

The performance of the supply chain is arguably the greatest contributor to overall business performance (think what happens when customer service levels drop below acceptable levels). Despite this, many organisations currently operate with processes that contribute to poor company performance and accept this as the ways things are.

If your business suffers from any of the following symptoms then you potentially have significant opportunities to improve performance:-

-
variable, low (<99%) or unmeasured customer service levels
-
significant or surprising waste/write off costs (>0.3% of turnover)
-
variable, low or unmeasured forecast accuracy
-
a 'firefighting' and/or 'blame' culture
-
frequent production plan changes
-
production schedules not aligned to higher level planning decisions
-
conflicting and/or duplicated data from multiple sources
-
a lack of trust in information and frequent decisions without facts
-
many 'workarounds' to enable people to do their jobs
-
low staff capability and high staff turnover
